Vina Belje

Wine production in the Croatian Danube region was first mentioned during the time of the Roman emperor Probus, who enriched this area, including the wine-growing region of Baranja, with vines. The name Baranja comes from the Hungarian original BorAnya (Bor - wine, Hungarian Anya - mother) and in Croatian it means wine mother.

The story of Belje wines begins in the company’s own vineyards on Banovo brdo, with Croatia’s most beautiful wine road winding through them and featuring a modern winery in their center. The old cellars of Belje, buried in a hill in the center of Kneževi Vinogradi, were first mentioned back in 1526.
